Reliance Jio has now come up with a new offer called Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer. This offer has come after the withdrawal of Jio Summer Surprise offer. Jio Summer Surprise was announced on March 31, 2017 and had several attractive benefits for customers. The Summer Surprise was later withdrawn from the market due to an advisory from TRAI. It was announced that TRAI had found Summer Surprise to be non-compliant. Now, Jio has rolled out the Dhan Dhana Dhan offer. This offer is compliant with TRAI regulations and is available for all Jio customers and new customers.
As per Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer, customers who recharge their Jio sim with Rs. 309 recharge get unlimited benefits for 3 months. The benefits are:-
Access to Jio Apps like JioTV, JioMusic, JioMags, JioCinema, JioNewspaper and more
Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer has one more recharge option, the Rs. 509 plan, where users get all benefits listed above and 2 GB data per day instead of 1 GB. The 309 and 509 plans are available for Jio Prime customers. For non-Prime customers and new customers, the charges would be Rs. 408 (309 + 99) and Rs. 608 (509 + 99) respectively. Overall, customers who recharge with Rs. 309 plan will get 4G data worth 84 GB for 84 days and customers who recharge with Rs. 509 plan will get 4G data worth 168 GB for 84 days.
As per Jio’s last announcement, customers who have already opted for Summer Surprise offer will still get the benefits of the offer eventhough it has been withdrawn. The new offer called Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan will thus benefit new customers and those Jio non-Prime customers who are now thinking of switching over to prime plans.
Even after the Summer Surprise offer was withdrawn, Jio had committed to honour it for those customers who have already opted for it. This had led to unrest in the Indian telecom sector, so much so that Vodafone had even complained to TRAI regarding it. Now, Jio has come up with the new offer namely Dhan Dhana Dhan and it is expected that again rival companies may object or else feel uneasy at the announcement. Certainly, since the launch of Jio in September 2016, many customers have migrated to Reliance Jio, leaving other telecom operators in the lurch. This phenomena called the Jio Effect, has led to the overhaul of plans and services amongst all the telecom operators. It is expected that other competitors will now introduce similar plans or other benefits for countering Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer.
Overall, so far, Jio is staying true to its promise of providing everyday more value than competition. Other telecom operators like Idea, Vodafone and Airtel have a lot of catching up to do. The situation is quite favourable for customers due to this and hopefully will remain beneficial in the future as well.
